I was looking forward to listen about clasroom management techniques.I was a little concerned about it but now I think that I may  feel more confident on what to do.There were many interesting things that Mathew said and called my attention.Things such as how  to organize students to work in groups, talk frequently to parents, the way we set the rules inside a classroom, and establish a routine so that students get used to it and many many other things.I hope I can keep them on my mind and do my best.

Teaching listening

I think that teaching listening would be the hardest thing for me to do. I think that is harder than it might seem.In fact,  I am trying to improve my listening skills because sometimes I just don' t understand what English native speakers are talking about. I have been thinking on the concept of using both bottom-up and top down listening techniques when teaching English.Students who are just beginners, would not be able to understand whole sentences. For example, when listening a story,  I think that I would ask them to listen for key words already explained. Now, I am thinking  how could I explain those key words to kindergarten kids If I had to teach them.

Storytelling and Games

It really called my attention what Cindy said about the story of The Day that the Crayons quit. She says that with this story we can teach not only new words but also we can teach our students how to complain about a situation they might face and express their feelings naturally. I find that could be really useful for kids to learn because it will help them during all their lives. Besides storytelling, playing games is an activity that I would absolutely use for teaching kids or adults.I love games and I really liked when some of my teachers used them even in the university. We learned and we had fun at the same time.
